The MVP and best guard of the 2019 FIBA Women Afro Basketball Championship, Ezinne Kalu is hopeful that the Nigerian Senior Women National Basketball team, D’Tigeress will have time to fix things and also the extra time to improve as a better team ahead of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics Games.
Ezinne said, “I think this is a blessing in disguise as we (D’Tigress) have over a year to be stronger and to be the best we can be.”
Kalu when quizzed on, “If the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games had kicked off as scheduled, would you be ready?
She answered, “Individually, my goal would have just been keep working hard, keep being a team leader, give my all in every game, every practice, every training.”
“I will have their (D’Tigress) back and I will be willing to follow them as well to get us to the podium of the Olympics.”
The 2021 Tokyo Olympics Games was postponed from the 2020 Calendar year to 2021 Calendar year due to the Corona Virus (Convid-19) pandemic halting all Sports related events worldwide.
