Biffo declares Ilorin West Local Government football competition open

Kwara United gaffer Abdullahi Biffo on Monday, November 25, declared the 2019 Ilorin West football competition open.

The competition which is meant for primary school pupils will be starting on Tuesday, November 26, by 8am at the base ball field located around Adewole in Ilorin.

Biffo who is sponsoring the 2019 edition of the tournament delivered a lecture at the Ilorin West Local Government hall where he explained the importance of Sports to parents.

The former Niger Tornadoes and Katsina United handler also emphasized that all parents must be educated so as to engage their children in sporting activities.

“I am very sure that talents will be discovered in this tournament and parents need to be taught the importance of Sports so as to help our children.

“I will always be part of those who encourage younger ones to take part in sports and that is why I’m here to give you my supports before the competition starts,” Biffo explained at the unveiling ceremony.

While thanking Biffo for his gesture in sponsoring the 2019 edition of the Ilorin West Local Government primary school football tournament, secretary of the Local Government Mr Oniye stated that Biffo is a blessing and therefore enjoined all other stakeholders to emulate him.

“We want to thank you for your support, and on behalf of the Local Government, I want to say that God will continue to bless you and make you great,” Mr Oniye explained.

Meanwhile, Biffo and his wards have started preparation for their next game against FC Taraba in the National League.
