Battle-Ready Flamingos Land in Casablanca for 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have arrived safely in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of the highly anticipated FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The team departed Abuja at exactly 7:18 a.m. and touched down in Casablanca at 11:28 a.m. local time after a smooth 4-hour, 20-minute flight.

The contingent, led by officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was warmly received upon arrival as the girls prepare to begin their quest for global glory.

A special moment came at the Casablanca International Airport when the players met former Super Eagles defender Taribo West, who was on transit.

The Nigerian football legend took time to speak with the team, offering words of encouragement and motivation, urging them to make the nation proud on the world stage.

The team has since settled into their accommodation at Ibis Hotel, Casablanca, where they are expected to rest and hold a light training session later in the evening to shake off flight fatigue.

The Flamingos head into the tournament full of confidence after an impressive build-up campaign.

In their 10 friendly matches leading up to the World Cup, the team scored 44 goals without conceding any, a record that underlines their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.

Nigeria has been drawn in a competitive group that includes France, Canada and Samoa.

The Nigeria 17 girls brimming with confidence, remains optimistic about advancing deep into the tournament.

With their eyes firmly set on making history, the Flamingos are ready to soar in Morocco and continue Nigeria’s proud tradition in women’s football.
