Unbeaten Nigerian lightweights Tosin Osaigbovo and Taiwo Agbaje turned up the heat at a fiery press conference in Lagos on Monday, exchanging sharp verbal jabs ahead of their highly anticipated showdown.
The two rivals are set to square off for the vacant WBA Africa Lightweight title at the iconic National Stadium on April 26, in an event tagged “The Saga Continues: Battle of the Ages 13.0.”
Speaking with visible intensity, Osaigbovo—popularly known as “Sojar Boy” did not hold back as he vowed to make the fight a painful experience for his opponent.
“This fight is personal,1 and on April 26, I will punish him for all 10 rounds, if care is not taken, I will stop him”.
” I’m not just coming to win , I’m coming to make a statement and show him the consequences of crossing me,” confident Osaigbovo declared.
Taiwo Agbaje, nicknamed “Eshepo” for his relentless punching style, dismissed the threats with confidence, belittling his opponent and promising a dominant performance.
“Sojar Boy talks too much. He’s like a baby in boxing , not on my level. I will break and knock him out and end the fight before the final bell. This is my division, and I’ll prove it with a knockout,” Agbaje fired back.
The clash pits Agbaje’s aggressive, high-volume punching against Osaigbovo’s technical southpaw approach, setting the stage for a compelling contest between two fighters eager to preserve their unbeaten records as Agbaje’s 18-0-0 (13 KOs) will go toe to toe against Tosin’s 12-0-0 ( 8 KOs).
With tensions already boiling over outside the ring, fans can expect fireworks when both men finally meet in Surulere.
