The president of Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), Jibril Saidu Ojih has described the appointment of Barrister Terence Vembe to the international body’s arbitration tribunal as ‘a statement of integrity.’
Sports247 reports that Ojih said it was heartwarming news hearing that Vembe is now a member of the International Handball Federation (IHF) arbitration and wished him a successful spell during his tenure that will run until 2029.
Ojih added that it is a proud moment for the HFN and entire Nigerian handball community, as Vembe’s new status reflects the increasing respect the country is getting on the international sporting terrain in general.
While assuring that the HFN remains committed to supporting individuals who continue to make the nation proud on the global stage, Ojih congratulated Vembe on behalf of the entire handball family in the country.
“I warmly congratulate Barrister Terence Vembe on his well-deserved appointment as a member of the IHF Arbitration Tribunal. This recognition is a testament to his integrity, professionalism and deep understanding of the sport.
“We are confident that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of handball at the global level,” Nigeria’s number handball official affirmed.
HFN’s media assistant, Cosmos Chukwuemeka Akisi added, “Barrister Vembe joins other distinguished members of the tribunal tasked with handling arbitration matters, marking another significant milestone for Nigerian handball on the world stage.”
