Barau FC has appointed Freedom Radio journalist, Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada, as Special Assistant on Media to the club’s head coach, in a move aimed at strengthening relations between the club and the media.
The appointment was confirmed by the General Manager of Barau FC, Dominic Iorfa, during a reconciliation meeting held to resolve a recent dispute involving the journalist and the club’s head coach, Eugene Agbabe.

According to Iorfa, the appointment takes immediate effect and was made strictly on merit.
He explained that the decision was also intended to foster a stronger working relationship between the club, the media, and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), particularly in Kano State.
The reconciliation meeting, which paved the way for the appointment, was facilitated by the Kano State chapter of SWAN under the leadership of its chairman, Zahradden Saleh.
It followed an incident that occurred after a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match involving Barau FC and Kun Khalifat FC.
Several sports journalists, club officials, and football stakeholders were present at the meeting, where the appointment was formally announced and welcomed as a positive step toward improved club–media relations.
