Bam Adebayo Settles For 21 Points In NBA Victory, As Miami Heats Market His Historic 83

Miami Heats of USA centre, Bam Adebayo settled for only 21 points in his next game after netting a historic 83 last week, which his team exploited with merchandising benefits during their victory over Milwaukee Bucks, Sports247 reports.

Although Adebayo could not replicate his magical form of the previous game in USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA), his team sold several items with the symbolic ‘number 83.’

While Miami beat The Bucks 112-105, for their seventh consecutive victory of the season, Adebayo appeared to be exhausted, as he went 6 for 20 from the field, 9 for 13 from the foul line and 0 for 5 from 3-point range in 35 minutes.

Alongside the game, it was brisk sales from the time the gates opened until 8:30pm – the team was selling 83-cent popcorn, chips or can of soft drinks at some kiosks, and an $8.30 meal that included a hot dog, popcorn and fountain drink.

The Heat had a slew of merchandise bargains in his honour, some of which started Wednesday when they unveiled $83 jerseys, $13 tickets (in honour of his team shirt number) and even started assembling Adebayo No. 83 tops.

However, his performance was nothing like the 20-for-43 shooting from the field, 36-for-43 from the foul line, 7-for-22 from 3-point range effort he got against Washington Wizards for his historic 83 points effort – behind only Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 – in NBA history.

Adebayo described the 48 hours between both games as an emotional roller-coaster; but he still came up big when Miami needed it the most, getting 12 of his points in the fourth quarter against The Bucks.

“To be able to move onto the next game, get the win and figure it out in a different way … it wasn’t 83 tonight. It was 21. And if anybody’s upset, I don’t care. I’m thankful for my teammates.

“They stepped up in a big way. Tonight, it was Pelle and Kas, and sort of me. I haven’t seen them yet. You live in the moment. Every time you get a chance to see it, hear it, you grasp it,” Adebayo retorted.
