Sports247 reports that the match in Lusaka is decisive for Rivers United to reach the competition’s knock out stage, but Bamidele insists he has to do his job, though it means wrecking a club from his country.

Saturday’s game will be part of Matchday 3 in this season’s CCL group stage across the continent, as attention returns to club football this weekend, after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

With two rounds of group matches played before the AFCON break, Matchday 3 marks a halfway point in the elite clubs’ competition, making it a decisive moment in the race for qualification to the quarter-finals.

Heading into the encounter, Bamidele ruled out divided loyalty when the Zambian champions host his countrymen, and the former Shooting Stars of Ibadan centre-back said his mind is already on winning the Group A game.

Dynamos go into Saturday’s game buoyed by three-consecutive wins in the domestic Super League and 27-year-old Bamidele believes what he knows about The Pride of Rivers will help his team.

Bamidele declared, “Playing against my home country’s team is part of my job. They also came to do their job, and I have to do mine. We will do all we can to get a victory.

“We know what is at stake. I know them, but it is our preparations that will make us win the game. Every game is there for us to win, especially as champions from last season.”
