Awoniyi speaks on long-return Liverpool future after meeting with Klopp

2013 U-17 World Cup winning striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has returned to parent club Liverpool for the 2019/2020 season after impressing on loan at Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron.

The 21 year-old had a bad first half of the season on loan at KAA Gent but cut it short and signed a loan deal with Mouscron – where he scored 11 goals in 16 games to help the club keep their status in the Belgian Pro league.

Awoniyi did revealed he has already had a meeting with Coach Jurgen Klopp and will begin preseason with the club.

He said: “Yes, I have returned to the club and already met with the coach so I will resume preseason for the new season.

“For now I will wait and see what happens. It all depends on securing a work permit first and then the club will decide afterwards.”

He also admitted to offers from other clubs but revealed that he will take his time to decide his decision for the 2019/2020 season.
