Austin Eguavoen Applauds Mourinho, “Champion in the Truest Sense of the world After AS Roma Conference League Victory

Former Super Eagles international, Austin Eguavoen has congratulated Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese manager guided AS Roma to the first ever Europa conference League victory.

AS Roma edged out Cyril Desser’s Feyenord by a goal to nil at Albania in a thrilling, nervy contest. Nicolo Zaniolo’s half time strike was enough to seal the trophy for the Italian club.

Eguavoen took to his official twitter account to celebrate the Portuguese tactician.

“Congratulations to José Mourinho and AS ROMA on the UEFA Europa Conference League Triumph. A Champion in the Truest sense of the word. One of the greatest to ever do it.”

“Still and always will be the Special one.”

After failing to guide the Super Eagles to the World Cup, Eguavoen was replaced by Peseiro by NFF but he still remains a vital member of the technical crew.

It will be noteworthy to know that Roma had never won a European trophy and hadn’t won a trophy in 15 years until Jose Mourinho arrived last summer.
