The Executive Chairman of Onna Local Government Council of Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Imo Attat has delivered on his pledge to reward Dakkada’s first goal scorer of every NPFL match this season with a new pair of high quality football cleat boots.

Attat made the pronouncement at the Nest of Champions, Uyo, shortly before Dakkada’s Match Day 14 fixture at home to Rivers United.

Attat, who is also the Vice Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Football Association, said he made the pledge in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s lofty developmental plans for sports in the State and hoped that his gesture will motivate the players to greater achievements in the NPFL.

The Council Chairman who has accompanied Dakkada to witness away matches on several occasions this term also disclosed that he was currently in negotiation with the club to explore more means of partnership.

The first two recipients of the Council Boss’ largesse are Spencer Bassey, who scored the first goal in Dakkada’s 2-1 home win over Rivers United and Osimaga Duke who was the first to find the back of the net with a thunderous effort from long range in his side’s 2-0 home win over Jigawa GS last Saturday.

Presenting the gift items to the beneficiaries, during Wednesday’s evening training session, on behalf of the council helmsman, the Chairman of Dakkada FC, Coach Aniedi Dickson, thanked the football-loving council boss and urged his players to reciprocate the kind gesture with positive on-the-field results.

Dakkada will be involved in the early kick-off of the NPFL this Sunday when they visit Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, as guests to Wikki Tourists.
