Atalanta of Italy appear ready to finally allow Ademola Lookman go, as the Italian Serie A outfit are said to be looking into an offer from Galatasaray of Turkey for the Super Eagles winger, Sports247 reports.
However, at a point when all eyes were turned towards expectations of Lookman linking forces with his Nigerian teammate, Victor Osimhen at Gala, updated reports indicate that Atletico Madrid of Spain have entered the race for him.

It is now left to e seen if the former Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham and Leicester City of England ace, who also had two stints with RB Leipzig of Germsny, will be allowed to leave Bergamo in January, as memories linger over how they stood firm on keeping hm in the summer.
A stand-off ensued back then, as Lookman insisted on taking an offer from Inter Milan, but Atalanta’s top brass refused to sell him to a direct rival nor allow him go for any amount less than €50m.
The story, though, appears to have changed, as Lookman has lost form and favour ever since, such that even the sack of the club’s immediate past coach, Ivan Juric, after a physical clash with the player, has not brought back his once fiery form.
Odds are now angling towards the 2023 African Footballer of The Year leaving Atalanta in the winter transfer window, but the big question is, ‘Which club is he heading to?’
A report by La Gazzetta dello Sport adds: “Atalanta management hope Lookman responds positively to new coach Raffaele Palladino, but if his current form continues then selling in January hasn’t been ruled out.
“Watching developments are Atletico Madrid and Tottenham, which both tried for Lookman over the off-season. However, Galatasaray are regarded as favourites.
“(They) have already tabled a contract offer worth €9m-a-year to Lookman’s agents ahead of the winter market. Crucially, Atalanta wll slash their asking price from the €50m valuation.”
