Asisat Oshoala has claimed her sixth CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, setting a new record and solidifying her status as one of Africa’s football legends.

The 29-year-old Nigerian icon, who dazzled on the field with Barcelona, emerged victorious at the awards gala in Marrakech, beating tough competitors Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa and Barbara Banda of Zambia.

Oshoala’s outstanding contributions to Barcelona’s success last season, where she notched an impressive 27 goals across all competitions, played a pivotal role in securing her sixth CAF Women’s Player of the Year title.

As Barcelona’s top scorer, she played an instrumental role in their Primera Division title retention and the historic Champions League triumph in Turin, overcoming Lyon in the process.

FC Robo’s Emmanuel Osahon, commenting on Oshoala’s win, acknowledged her exceptional achievements both at the club and international levels.
