Former Super Eagles’ captain, Nwankwo Kanu (Papilo) has added his view to the historic conquest of the English Premier League title by Arsenal, the club with which he achieved the greatest spotlight in his career, Sports247 reports.
Although Kanu won the 1995 UEFA Champions League with Ajax Amsterdam of Netherlands, before getting a short-spell at Inter Milan of Italy and later played for Portsmouth of England, it was at Arsenal that he had his best days on the turf.

With memories of his glorious days under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger at Emirates Stadium still fresh in mind, Kanu is fondly referred to as an Arsenal legend, and it’s no surprise that he is now celebrating Tuesday’s confirmation of their EPL title.
It’s the first conquest of England’s top-flight since 2014 and ‘King Kanu,’ who was part of that historic triumph that came 22 years ago without a single defeat for the squad all through the season, took to social media to hail their latest glee.
Kanu celebrated his former club’s title triumph with an emotional message to The Gunners’ supporters after Manchester City played out a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth, as he praised the north London side for their determination and resilience.
“KAN U believe it??? Arsenal Forever. The Gunners worked so hard for this. Difficult but they fought. Very well deserved. Come on you gunners,” wrote the leggy star, who captained Nigeria’s under-23 squad to win the 1996 Olympic gold.
