Nigerian ex-international defender, Kingsley Obiekwu (aka Shagari) has reasoned that Arsenal of England can win a domestic and continental double this season because they have improved tremendously, Sports247 reports.
Arsenal took another big step towards winning the English Premier League title with a 1-0 win away to West Ham United on Saturday, and Obiekwu hailed what he described as The Gunners’ solid attack backed by a strong defence.

He opined further that Arsenal have what it takes to win the EPL title and even pull off a major shock by beating Paris Saint-Germain of France in the UEFA Champions League final.
The Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games gold medallist praised Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta for building a disciplined backline that could help the London-based squad eventually secure their first European title.
Arsenal were eliminated by PSG last season in the same competition’s semi-final, but ‘Shagari’ pointed out that The Gunners are better prepared this time for the May 30th battle in Budapest.
“I think Arsenal’s run this term, as was the case last season, has revolved around their defence. I think the club has improved tremendously since last season. They are top of the EPL table with two games to go.
“They are also in the UCL final. Their defence has been key to this and it could still come to the fore in the UCL final against PSG. They score goals and still defend very well,” Obiekwu analysed.
