Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare played a key role as Wolverhampton Wanderers fought back to secure a 1–1 draw against an Everton side that finished the contest with nine men, in a match marked by goals, VAR drama and disciplinary flashpoints.
Everton took the lead in the 17th minute through Michael Keane, who finished confidently with his right foot after a well-weighted assist from Tim Iroegbunam, giving the hosts early control of the encounter.

Wolves grew into the game after the interval and found their equaliser in the 69th minute, when Mateus Mane produced a moment of quality, striking from outside the box to beat the goalkeeper with a powerful right-footed effort.
The match turned decisively in Wolves’ favour late on as Everton’s discipline unravelled. In the 80th minute, Michael Keane was shown a straight red card following a VAR review for violent conduct, after a reckless challenge on Tolu Arokodare. The dismissal shifted momentum fully towards the visitors as they pushed for a winner.
Drama continued deep into stoppage time when Everton were reduced to nine men. Jack Grealish received a second yellow card for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 90th minute, leaving his side stretched as Wolves searched for a late breakthrough.
Despite their numerical advantage, Wolves were unable to find a decisive goal, with Everton holding firm under pressure to claim a hard-earned point.
Arokodare’s presence up front caused persistent problems for the Everton defence, drawing fouls and playing a decisive role in the key moments that altered the course of the match. The Nigerian striker’s physicality and work rate were instrumental as Wolves capitalised on Everton’s lapses in discipline.
