Anyansi Agwu Applauds Governor Ikpeazu’s Commitment To Sports Development

Club chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu has heaped praises on the governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu Ph.D. for his donation of two brand new vehicles and an electronic scoreboard to the team.

Governor Ikpeazu was at the Enyimba Stadium on Sunday to cheer the team as the club beat Rahimo FC on aggregate to advance to the first round of the Champions League; and after the game handed over a brand new bus and SUV to the team. The electronic scoreboard, which has the unique feature of displaying match statistics, was launched prior and used for the game.

In his commendation, Agwu explained that the governor’s gesture was a demonstration of his longstanding commitment to sports development in the state.

“This gesture shows that our Governor is a complete sports lover and that he holds Enyimba closely to his heart. It is evident in everything you can see today. The scoreboard, as you can see, is world-class and it will be very useful in both our CAF and league matches.

“When you look around Abia State, you’ll see the footprint of his developmental strides in every sector, and sports has not been left out. He is someone who understands the role sports plays in engaging the youth and creating employment, that’s why he is always willing to invest heavily in it.

“This is the kind of development we want to see, and if others can emulate the gesture of our Governor, then in no time, Nigeria will stand tall in the area of sporting facilities.”

Agwu further stated that the gesture of the governor will go a long way to spur the team to success in the current football season.

“Motivation plays a huge part in football and when you know that the number one citizen of the state is your number one supporter, then the team will have no choice but to give one hundred percent on the field every time.

“We are most grateful to him and the only way we can fully express our gratitude is by performing well, winning trophies, and bringing pride to the state.”
