Sports247 reports that Joshua was appreciative about the grace of God that saved him, while two of his close friends and crew members died in the accident that occurred near Sagamu around 11am on December 29th.
‘AJ’ escaped death only because he exchanged seats before they all set out for the journey in an SUV, but it ramped into a stationary truck and he later spent New Year in hospital, while his strength coach, Sina Ghami, and personal trainer, Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele both died.
The former two-time champ celebrated God’s helping hand in his life, as he put an end to speculation about whether he would continue his career by returning to training 12 days after the burial of the duo on January 4th at a London mosque.
Joshua, who landed back in England via London Stansted Airport on January 2 and has been recuperating at home, posted a photo of himself with relatives of his two friends, ahead of the funeral, with a caption: ‘My brothers’ keeper.’
He has now followed up with a reel of photos on his Snapchat showing himself hitting pads in a gym, as well as carrying out a lower leg workout, on an exercise bike and getting in a pool in what he branded ‘mental strength therapy.’
Joshua earlier wrote on Instagram: “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realise how special they are.
“I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.
“100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”
