Anthony Joshua’s December 19 Fight With Jake Paul Faces Fresh Opposition

A fresh bolt of opposition has hit the much talked about December 19th fight between Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua and social media influencer, Jake Paul.

Sports247 gathered that the latest jab against the controversial fight billed to take place in Miami, USA comes from an American boxer, Ryan Garcia, who insists it’s already a ‘lopsided clash.’

The fight has been confirmed as an exhibition bout of eight rounds with three minutes each, from which both boxers will share a total fee of £140m, but many critics have already called for it to be cancelled.

Garcia, a 27-year-old former WBC lightweight champ, has now joined the refrain by openly casting serious doubt over the clash, as he believes the YouTuber is a mismatch for the former two-time world heavyweight belt holder.

Incidentally, when ‘AJ’ and Paul stood toe-to-toe, many boxing buffs were astonished by the huge differences in physical appearances and weight between both, which Garcia has now highlighted, as he expressed deep concerns about the match-up.

Garcia wrote in an online article: “I seriously doubt this Jake versus Anthony fight takes place. It’s too much of a disadvantage.”

However, Paul insists the bout will go ahead, as he stressed that a date, prize money and rules have already been announced for the fight, which will be streamed live on Netflix.
