Sports247 gathered that ‘AJ,’ who many boxing buffs have criticized for accepting to fight the social media influencer, looked rock solid and trim in the photos that have since gone viral.

However, the photo splash is causing ripple effects for Joshua, as critics insist they only go on to confirm that Paul is a mismatch for his intimidating credentials as a former two-time heavyweight champ off the world.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn earlier admitted that the London 2012 Olympic Games gold medalist will have to retire from boxing if he does not floor Paul, who is allegedly into boxing to add social media content.

Paul is already being considered as a misfit for Joshua when both fighters step out at Kaseya Center in Miami, USA on December 19 with a fee of £140m set to be split equally between them.

The fight, which has been confirmed and approved, will see 6 feet 6 inches Joshua and 6 feet 2 inches Paul contest eight three-minute rounds if it goes the distance, but the former champ will still have to shed a lot of weight to meet the requirements.

He weighed more than 250 pounds in each of his last five fights, but is was believed to be presently around 265 pounds and will have to drop 20 pounds to fit the 245 pounds weight limit for this month’s fight.

‘AJ’ has not fought in more than a year since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, but Hearn is confident that his boxer will make the weight class.

Hearn told BBC 5 Live, “I spoke to [Joshua] and he was sitting at 265 pounds or something like that.

“I said I’m not interested in balloon gloves and two-minute rounds but he said it was a real fight.”
