‘Anthony Joshua Is Struggling Because He Dumped His Mentor,’ Says British Boxer Carl Froch

A startling report has emerged that Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua is struggling to revive career because he dumped the man who guided him to stardom.

Sports247 gathered that this declaration came from a returnee British boxer, Carl Froch, who took a swipe at ‘AJ’ for allegedly biting the finger that fed him and is now apparently facing the dire consequences of his actions.

Froch, who recently stepped out of retirement to set up a fight with Jake Paul, opined further in a no holds barred interview with British tabloid, Daily Mail, that Joshua should retire.
He added that the two-time champs’
decline was not just about losing to Andy Ruiz, Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, but because he ditched his first trainer and mentor, Rob McCracken.

He pointed out that the decline started when Joshua cut ties with the man who guided him to gold at the London 2012 Olympic and world title because of his first loss to Usyk in 2021, while citing a need for change.

Froch stressed: “People may think this is a controversial take, but I think AJ’s downfall started when he split up from Rob McCracken.

“Rob guided him from amateur nobody to Olympic champion and then to world honours. But AJ didn’t listen. He left him. That was the worst decision he could have made.

“Now he’s mentally distraught, physically getting old, and completely lost. I honestly don’t think there is a way back. I think he’s done, and he knows it.”
