Sports247 gathered that, in spite of several indications and widespread speculation that the Greece international would be on his way out of Milwaukee this month, ‘The Greek Freak’ will remain there.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported hours ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline that The Bucks will no longer trade Antetokounmpo and they opted to turn their focus on other deals.
This puts an end to speculation that the two-time NBA most valuable player (MVP) will not finish the season with The Bucks, who are in the midst of a torrid campaign and can no longer make the playoffs.
Milwaukee are still expected to welcome offers for Antetokounmpo in the offseason, when teams have more clarity on their draft pick compensation and the market potentially widens as some contenders fall short in the playoffs.
However, for now, Antetokounmpo is staying at Milwaukee, which the ace confirmed while sharing a clip from “The Wolf of Wall Street” on his Instagram account, as actor Leonardo DiCaprio emphatically announces, “I’m not leaving.”
