The Nigerian-born duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ogugua (OG) Anunoby have both emerged among top favourites for this season’s All Stars’ game in USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA), Sports247 reports.

Anunoby and Antetokounmpo are both listed among the ranks in the Eastern Conference, with the lad from Britain rated 13th, while the Greek icon and NBA’s former most valuable player is top of the list.

The Nigerian-born duo’s names appeared on the log, as the NBA released results of the first round of fan voting for the 2025-26 All-Star Game, for which Los Angeles Lakers star, Luka Dončić leads all votes in the West.

Dončić is followed by Nikola Jokić, Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama in the West, while Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham and Donovan Mitchell follow Antetokounmpo in the East.

The next voting is slated for January 6, ahead of the All-Stars week, which will involve two teams of US players and one of international stars in a round-robin tournament of four 12-minute games.

Anunoby and Antetokounmpo are expected to play key roles in the games, which are scheduled to begin on February 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, where Los Angeles Clippers play their home fixtures.
