Nigerian female ex-international, Maureen Mmadu has expressed delight with her appointment as a committee member of Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), which she said is passionate about developing women in the game.

Sports247 reports that Mmadu defined her appointment to the association’s women football development committee as a great honour, privilege and call to service, while also promising to contribute her wealth of experience to the duty.
Mmadu praised the association’s chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi (aka General) for his zeal to develop football in the state and commended him for working hard to make sure that Anambra becomes one of the best in grassroots activities.
She further called on stakeholders, coaches, corporate bodies, players and sports enthusiasts in the state to join hands in promoting women’s football, with a view that collective effort is the key to effective development.
The former player, who enjoyed a successful career with the Super Falcons, also emphasized the importance of developmental programmes, talent identification and proper mentorship as strong foundations for young female footballers.
“I am sincerely grateful to the Anambra State Football Association for finding me worthy to serve in this important capacity. It is a privilege to be part of a team that is passionate about developing women’s football at the grassroots level.
“I am fully committed to supporting the FA in nurturing young talents, creating opportunities, and ensuring that women’s football in Anambra State reaches greater heights,” Mmadu concluded.
