The Anambra State Football Association Electoral Committee has made public the list of qualified candidates for this month’s election into the State Football Association Board and Local Football Councils.
The six-member electoral committee led by its Chairman, a renowned Sports Administrator, Sir Jude Anyadufu made the list public on the notice board of the FA Secretariat at midday disclosing the names of the qualified candidates for both state board and local football council after a three-day thorough screening process for interested candidates who had earlier picked the nomination forms.
According to the programme schedule for the forthcoming elections made available by the State FA Secretary who doubles as the Electoral Committee Secretary, Mr. Chijioke Onyedika, submission of protest letter by aggrieved candidates and hearing of appeals will be entertained by the Appeals Committee between 13th to 20th July 2020, while the election into the State FA board and Local Football Councils will be held before the end of the month with the date and time to be made available by the Electoral Committee shortly.
It would be recalled that the tenure of current State FA Board members led by its Chairman, Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, elapsed on the 4th of May 2020 although an extraordinary General Assembly of the State FA held on Tuesday, 28th April 2020, unanimously agreed to extend the tenure of the ANSFA board and Local Football Councils Chairmen’s tenure by another three months owing to the lockdown of the state boundaries necessitated by the ravaging effect of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
