In a very busy day of football in the ongoing 2023 Neros Anambra FA Cup, 8 teams joined other club sides who were drawn by and two who qualified the previous day to complete our cast for the Round of 16.
8 matches took place across 4 match centres in the state. At the Rojenny stadium Oba in the first match, Global FC got the better of the oldest team in Anambra state, Obosi United by 3 unreplied goals. In the second match at the Oba venue, the psychological will of Galaxy FC were tested as the beat Sanky FC via penalties 4-1 to make it to the next round.
At the Chuba Ikpeazu stadium Onitsha, Obeledu United were in imperious form as they dispatched young Olive Charles FA by 2 goals to nil. The second match was even more keenly contested when De Wilson took on Anambra Rovers. De Wilson FC won the match by a lone goal margin to progress to the next round.
At the Nanka Stadium, the first match was between Ndukamma FC and Black Smithers FC. Ndukamma defeated Black Smithers by a goal to nil. The next match at this stadium was keenly contested. Hopeland FC of Nnewi took on DOSAD FA of Enugu-Ukwu. At the duration, nothing to separate both sides as it went to the luxury of penalty shootout. Hopeland FC came out tops in the psychological duel.
At the Awka City stadium, football fans were equally treated to the very best of Anambra football. Big T Global lost to Ochomma FC by one goal to nil. In the second match, Dominion City FC of Achala were dominant as they made light task of Uncle Raph FC by 4 goals to 2.
