The sold-out event drew fans, families, and sports enthusiasts from across the city, capping off a season that continues to redefine youth sports culture in Nigeria.
The Warriors clinched the championship title in dramatic fashion, defeating longtime rivals Lagos Athletics Knights (LA) 40–23 in front of an energetic crowd.

In the aftermath of the electric Bowl in Lagos, which marked the end of the season, Azeez Amida, Chairman of Showtime Flag Football, reflected on the league’s journey and unveiled ambitious plans for nationwide expansion.
“We’ve been at this for eight years now. Every time we host the Bowl, it feels brand new,” Amida said. “Seeing fans from all over, even someone watching from Brazil on our YouTube channel, just shows how far we’ve come.”
Amida praised the tireless work of his team in delivering yet another memorable event.
“Honestly, I’m blown away. I’m super impressed with what we’ve built. Huge kudos to the entire team — I’m just happy to be the guy standing in front of the camera representing all the hard work.”
Looking ahead, Amida announced plans to expand the league to six states by the end of 2026, signaling a new era for flag football in Nigeria.
“We’re expanding. By the end of next year, we aim to be in at least six states. The goal is to spread Showtime Flag Football across Nigeria and introduce more communities to this incredible sport.”
This expansion aims not only to grow the game but also to deepen its roots in local communities, offering more young athletes the chance to engage in structured, high-energy competition.
Beyond geographic expansion, Amida shared his long-term vision: creating a viable professional pathway for aspiring flag football players within Nigeria.
“We want our players to dream big — to the point where they can say, ‘I want to be a professional flag football player.’ We’re building something that can become part of the Nigerian dream, right here at home. Not just sending our talent abroad, but nurturing it here — making Showtime the biggest in the world.”
He emphasized that the 2025 Bowl is just the beginning of a broader movement.
“We’ve done a lot, but we’re just getting started. When you experience what we’ve created here, you understand it’s special. Now, we want to take that feeling everywhere.”
The 2025 Showtime Bowl was a powerful showcase of what’s possible when sport, community, and purpose come together.
With elite athleticism, unforgettable entertainment, and an unwavering commitment to youth development, Showtime Flag Football has made one thing clear — this isn’t just a game, it’s a movement.
