Amayo Backs Rivers Hoopers for BAL Final Spot in South Africa

Rivers Hoopers guard Kelvin Amayo has expressed confidence in the team’s chances of reaching the final of the 2025 Basketball Africa League, set to begin this weekend in South Africa.

The Kingsmen finished third in last year’s tournament and are looking to build on that momentum.

Amayo, a standout performer in 2024, believes the team is stronger this year thanks to new additions and better chemistry.

“We’ve added key pieces, and with our experience from last year, we’re in a great position to go all the way,” he said.

Amayo averaged 16 points, 6.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game during the 2024 BAL season and is expected to play a leading role again this year.

The Hoopers face a challenging group but are aiming to make a strong statement as they chase their first BAL championship.
