Aliyu Zubair has continued his impressive start as manager of Telecom SC after leading the Egyptian side to their first-ever quarter-final appearance in the Egyptian Cup.
Telecom SC secured the historic milestone with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Pharco on Tuesday in the Round of 16, capping another memorable outing under the Nigerian coach.

The latest success comes on the back of an earlier shock result in the competition, where Telecom eliminated
Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the Round of 32 — a victory that sent shockwaves through Egyptian football and underlined Zubair’s immediate impact since his appointment three months ago.
In a short space of time, the former Elkanemi Warriors coach has transformed Telecom SC into a confident, disciplined and well-organised side capable of competing with — and defeating — some of the country’s top teams.
Zubair, who is also the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, is widely respected for his ability to develop young talent while instilling tactical intelligence, discipline and a strong winning mentality in his teams.
