Speaking after the match, Iwobi explained that the move leading to his strike had been practiced repeatedly in training, highlighting the importance of preparation and teamwork.

“It was something we worked on in training,” Iwobi said. “We go through different patterns and situations every week, so when the opportunity came during the game, it felt natural.”

The Nigerian international also singled out teammate Harry Wilson for his role in executing the move to perfection.

“Credit to Harry,” Iwobi added. “He delivered the pass exactly the way we planned it. Once the ball came to me and I saw the goalkeeper’s position, I knew what kind of finish to apply.”

Iwobi’s goal came at a crucial moment of the game, helping Fulham regain control after conceding earlier. The midfielder stressed that composure was key.

“After we conceded, the atmosphere changed because we were playing against the whole stadium,” he explained. “But we stayed calm, trusted what we had worked on, and it paid off.”

Fulham manager Marco Silva has often emphasized the importance of repetition and clarity in attacking play, and Iwobi believes that philosophy is beginning to show on the pitch.

“The manager always tells us to believe in the process,” Iwobi said. “If you keep repeating things in training, it becomes automatic during matches.”

The former Arsenal and Everton man has enjoyed a consistent run of form this season, contributing goals, assists and key link-up play in midfield. He believes Fulham’s collective approach has been crucial.

“It’s never about one player,” he noted. “Everyone understands their role, and when we move the ball well, chances will always come.”

Iwobi concluded by reiterating the team’s focus on steady improvement.

“We take it one game at a time,” he said. “If we keep working hard in training and executing our plans, we’ll continue to get results.”
