Eddymond arrives with an impressive résumé, having previously featured for FC Rocket One, Stormmers FC, and 1472 Lagos, where he established himself as one of the most promising goalkeeping prospects in the league.
His performances last season earned him recognition for his sharp reflexes, excellent ball distribution, and commanding presence between the sticks — attributes that have now attracted one of Nigeria’s most ambitious football clubs.
Speaking after signing his contract, the confident shot-stopper expressed his joy and determination to make a strong impact at his new club. He described joining Akwa United as a major step forward in his career and said he was ready to contribute to the team’s renewed push for success.
“I am excited to join Akwa United,” Eddymond said. “This is a club with tradition, passion, and ambition. I am coming here to give my best, learn, and help the team achieve its goals this season.”
Club officials also expressed optimism about their new signing, noting that his energy, discipline, and leadership qualities are exactly what the team requires as they prepare for a competitive season. With Akwa United looking to reassert themselves at the top tier of Nigerian football, the addition of Eddymond is seen as a major boost to their defensive setup.
As the 2025/2026 season approaches, fans of the Promise Keepers will be watching closely to see how the young goalkeeper adapts to his new environment and delivers on the expectations that come with wearing the club’s colours.
