Akwa United FC will open their 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign at home against Solution FC on November 8, 2025, following the official league resumption confirmed by the organisers.
The Promise Keepers were drawn into Southern Conference Group B during the NNL Annual General Meeting held in Kaduna on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Group B opponents include Rovers of Calabar, Stormers FC, First Bank, Osun United, Sporting Lagos, Dakkada, Ekiti United, and Abakaliki FC. Each club will play 18 matches—nine at home and nine away.
Under the leadership of Chairman Joseph Eno and Head Coach Paul Offor, Akwa United—the 2021 NPFL champions—will be targeting a swift return to the top flight.
This season’s NNL features 36 clubs across four groups in the Northern and Southern Conferences. Group winners will secure automatic promotion to the NPFL, while the Super Four playoffs will decide the overall NNL champion.
