Akwa Ibom Grassroots League : Last Round Of Matches To Decide The Last Team For The Super 8

The leagues final round of preliminary stage matches will take place on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th April 2022.

On Friday , Four games will take place with just one Super Eight qualification slot up for grabs plus a tussle for top spot in the Uyo Zone.

Top of the table Eagle Eyes Academy will kick start the days hostilities when they take on Nichin Football Academy by 9am. To finish first , Eagle Eyes must better the result of the game involving second placed Fullife Football Academy who will face a qualification chasing Ikoya Fc by 11am.

Bottom of the table New Flame and already qualified Jimbo International Fc play by 1pm. Jimbo Fc could still finish first if they win and both Eagle Eyes and Fullife Football Academy fail to win their games.

By 3pm, 7th placed Pillars Investors stand in the way of 5th placed Edak Fc . Edak Fc must win and hope 4th placed Ikoya Fc falter in their game against Fullife FA if they must join Eagle Eyes Academy, Fullife FA and Jimbo International as the top four in the zone.

All Uyo Zone matches will take place at the Q.I.C primary school Itam.

On Saturday , Krane Fc and Blessed Stars Academy will do battle by 9am. A point will be enough for Krane Fc to progress but Blessed Stars will have to wait for the completion of other matches in the zone to seal their spot if they fail to win.

Barracks Fc will take their share of the Josima Fc bounty. It’s football, the latter could decide to show up and play spoilers for the Barracks boys chances of sneaking into the top four.

Cheetah Fc and Oxygen Fc will play by 1pm. A win for Oxygen against 7th placed Cheetah Fc will confirm their qualification for the Super Eight . Any other result will leave Oxygen Fc in danger and depending on the results from the games involving Unity Fc and Barracks Fc.

Scorpion Fc play Unity Fc in the final game of the preliminary round. The Scorpions are mathematically not in contention for super eight qualification but will file out for pride . Their pride could hurt Unity Fc who will need a win to put their name among the top eight Grassroot teams in Akwa Ibom state.

All Onna Zone matches will take place at the Onna Township stadium same venue where the Super Eight playoffs will hold.
