‎Akure Goes Agog For South West 3×3 Basketball Fiesta

12 teams from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states will light up Akure, the capital city of Ondo State, on the 16th and 17th of May for the South West 3×3 Basketball Challenge organised by the South West Basketball Zone.

‎The championship, tagged Asiwaju Renewed Hope South West 3×3 Basketball Challenge, will hold at Democracy Park, Oja Oba, Akure.

‎Speaking ahead of the programme sponsored by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the South West representative on the board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Olumide Oyedeji, said the event is another opportunity for basketball players in the zone to experience competitive action.

‎On the choice of the 3×3 format, Oyedeji revealed that with 3×3 already a global phenomenon, it was time for the zone to promote the variant and discover talents within the region.

‎Beyond the millions in cash prizes to be won, Oyedeji further disclosed that all 12 teams will be accommodated, fed and supplied with jerseys. Also, each team will get transportation subsidy.

‎While thanking the minister for his support, Oyedeji promised that beyond the basketball games, fans will also be treated to top-level entertainment, with the two-day event serving as a meeting point for basketball stakeholders across the zone in an atmosphere of camaraderie.
