The in-form striker, who scored a brace for Sevilla on Monday, just 24 hours after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, is looking forward to making hay once again.
The Benue State-born hitman, who played for Montpellier of France before joining Sevilla last year, is fresh from being a key member of Nigeria’s bronze medal-winning squad at AFCON 2025.
He netted two goals and provided the same number of assists in helping Nigeria to a record extending ninth AFCON bronze medal last Saturday, but he is now fully focused on club activities.
Akor acknowledged the huge role he played in helping Sevilla storm back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Elche on Monday and admitted that his introduction to the game turned things around for the squad.
However, while admitting that the team committed errors in the game and they needed him to revive them, Akor conceded that they must all work together in taking the club up La Liga’s log.
Heading into Saturday’s home game, the Seville-based outfit lie 14th on the table and their visitors at 10th, but Akor believes collective effort in his team can see them return to winning ways and climb the scales once again.
Adams told mundodeportivo.com, “The team needed me, and it’s good that the coach gave me minutes to energize the team and get the draw. I think we let a few small details slip.
“The most important thing is the team, and the results weren’t what we wanted. We managed a draw, I scored, and I’m very happy for the team. We’re focused on what’s next.”
