Akor Adams Targets Derby Victory, Urges Sevilla to Find Consistency

Nigerian forward Akor Adams has declared that Sevilla’s objective is clear ahead of this weekend’s Andalusian derby — victory.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated clash, Adams stressed that the team’s mindset is to fight from the first whistle and give everything to avoid defeat.

“Our aim is to win,” Adams said. “In a derby, you must fight and give your best. There is no other option.”

The striker acknowledged that while Sevilla have shown flashes of quality this season, inconsistency has been their biggest obstacle.

“The problem is not winning one game,” he explained. “The issue is winning consistently. If we do that, our league position will look completely different.”

Sevilla have endured an up-and-down campaign, but Adams believes the squad possesses the character and talent required to turn their season around.

“We have quality players and strong team spirit. It’s about putting everything together over 90 minutes and beyond,” he noted.

The Nigerian forward also emphasized the emotional weight of derby matches, describing them as fixtures that demand intensity and focus.

“These games mean a lot to the fans and to the city. You feel it in training and around the club,” he added.

Adams called for concentration and discipline, warning that small lapses could prove costly.

“In games like this, details matter. You cannot switch off for a second,” he said.

Despite the pressure, the forward remains confident in Sevilla’s preparation.

“We’ve worked hard this week. Now it’s about showing that work on the pitch,” he concluded.

With the derby set to shape Sevilla’s momentum heading into the crucial stage of the season, Adams and his teammates will be aiming not only for bragging rights, but for the consistency that has eluded them so far.
