The young Ajegunle side head into the fixture on the back of consecutive defeats, raising concerns about their momentum in the competition. Their most recent outing ended in a 2–1 loss to Bright Future Football Academy in Week 7.
Onyejiuwa Chidalu opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Ezike Favour doubled the lead ten minutes later. Ajegunle United responded through Joshua Vincent in the 36th minute, but their comeback effort ultimately fell short.
