It will be a busy weekend for Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin as they have been fixed for two soccer engagements on Saturday and Sunday in the Eastern Nigeria cities of Aba and Abakaliki.
In the first engagement, the Benin Arsenal are scheduled to take on Nasarawa Utd in the round of 16 of 2022 Aiteo Cup competition on Saturday at the Enyimba International Stadium,Aba in Abia. Kickoff time is 4:00PM.
Insurance FC in their second fixture of the weekend will honour their Nigeria National League match day 21 against J.Atete in a neutral ground in Abakaliki,Ebonyi state capital on Sunday evening.
The J. Atete FC,Insurance tie is billed for Abakaliki as part of the punishment meted out to the hosts by the NNL disciplinary committee over the alleged attack on referees in their home match versus Ekiti United.
The Benin Arsenal whose status has changed from NNL club to NPFL after amassing 46 points from twenty games,thus leading group B1,ten points above second placed Gateway Utd who have 36 points with two matches to spare.
On the road to the Aiteo Cup round of 16 tie against Nasarawa utd,Insurance FC in the round of 32 defeated Ottasolo FC 4-3 during a shootout after the game had ended 1-1 in the 90 minutes of regulation period. They earlier brushed aside Katsina Utd Junior team in the round of 64 by 2 nil.
Insurance FC ,no doubt will not leave anything to chance when they file out against Nasarawa Utd on Saturday the Aiteo Cup round of 16 fixture in Aba has refreshed their memory of their loss to the same opponents in the same round last season.
