Aigbogun Plans To Test New Players In WAFU Cup

Youth national team, Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun has revealed that he plans to test some new players in his squad with the upcoming West African Football Union (WAFU) U-20 Nations Cup.

As preparation towards the tournament continues in Abuja, Aigbogun told sports247.ng the competition will serve as a test run for him and his players towards next year’s African U-20 Cup of Nations.

Aigbogun stated further that he will use the upcoming WAFU Cup to look at some new players that will be good enough for the continental assault in Niger Republic.

Aigbogun added: “We are trying to ensure the team will be in good shape before the WAFU tourney gets underway in Lome next month.

‘At the competition itself, we will also watch out for how the new players are coping alongside the old ones.
‘That would determine, to a large extent, the quality of players that we will take to the African U-20 Nations Cup next year.”
