Aho Hails Dubai Move: ‘This Is the Biggest Step of My Career,  Nigerian Cricket Is Rising’

Nigerian international and Guinness World Record fast bowler Peter Aho says his transfer to Dubai Capitals ahead of the 2026 ILT20 season marks the biggest and most transformative moment of his cricket career so far.

Speaking after officially joining the franchise, Aho described the move as a “golden opportunity” — one that will not only elevate his game but also open new pathways for young Nigerian cricketers dreaming of playing at elite international level.

“This is a major moment in my career. It’s the biggest step I’ve taken so far,” Aho said proudly.

He revealed that he has already had three training sessions with the team, using every minute to ask questions, study the environment, and learn from the coaching staff and more experienced players around him.

“I’m learning something new every day. I’m here to grow, develop, and become a more complete cricketer,” he added.

Aho’s move to Dubai has also generated excitement within Nigeria’s cricket community, as it represents yet another sign that the sport is expanding its global presence and offering opportunities far beyond domestic borders.

The fast bowler acknowledged this, saying he hopes his success will inspire a new generation.

“Young Nigerian cricketers can now see that the sport can take them to the world. This move is not just for me, it’s for them too,” he said.

Aho believes his presence in Dubai will help increase visibility for Nigerian cricket, attract attention from international scouts, and motivate administrators back home to invest even more in grassroots development.

He said he intends to use the ILT20 platform to showcase his skills, gain international experience, and set new personal benchmarks.

“I will keep improving, keep working hard, and push myself to be the best I can be,” he vowed.

Aho concluded by promising that he will fly the Nigerian flag with pride throughout his ILT20 journey.

“I’m ready for the challenge. This is just the beginning, and I want to make Nigeria proud.”
