Ahead TREM Cup Final: Coach Raji Remains Confident Despite Team’s Defeat Against Eletu Boys

Head Coach of Team360 Football Club of Lagos, Shola Raji says their shocking defeat against Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club won’t affect their preparation ahead of the TREM Cup final.

Team360 would play against Samjason Football Club in the TREM Cup final scheduled to be held on Saturday at the YABATECH sports center, Lagos.

In preparation to keep the boys in good shape for the final, Team360 suffered a 3-0 defeat against Eletu boys who were on a rampage in the friendly match played recently at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium.

Speaking with sports247.ng, Raji said the friendly match was good for his team despite the heavy defeat. He also commended his boys for their fighting spirit exhibited throughout the encounter but was quick to admit that his boys were not clinical enough against their opponents.

“It was a good match for us and I am happy that we played a good side who gave us a tough time. Despite our defeat, I still want to commend my boys for taking account of themselves.

“Of course, we created some chances and we even got the well-deserved penalty but my players did not take their chances. Our opponents also created some scoring chances and they converted it,” he said.

Asked if the defeat would affect the psyche of the players ahead of the TREM Cup final, Raji said the defeat has nothing to do with their preparation saying that he would work on the grey areas of the team before the final.

“Our friendly match against Eletu is to keep our players fit ahead of the final but I don’t think our defeat would affect us rather it would bring the best out of my players against their opponents coming on Saturday,” he said.

Wasiu Paraiso opened the goal account for Eletu in the 12th minute. A few minutes later, a foul was committed inside the Eletu box Unfortunately Salas Fossou was impressive and saved the penalty kick from Jacob Hugo.

The second half was better for Eletu as Emmanuel Chinedu and Akeem Taofeek scored the two goals to confirm their superiority over Team360.
