Atalanta of Italy winger, Ademola Lookman may not meet Nigerian-born youngster, Honest Ahanor at the club when he returns from the Africa Cup of Nations, Sports247 gathered.
This is sequel to information that the 17-year-old defender, who joined Atalanta from Genoa in July, is attracting interest from both Manchester City and Chelsea of England.
With Ahanor having come knocking repeatedly on the first team of Atalanta this season, the fresh-faced lad is in the January transfer shopping window all across Europe.
This means Lookman’s younger compatriot at the Bergamo-based Serie A outfit is also on the radar of a number of top clubs that are not in the English Premier League.
A report by TeamTalk added: “Chelsea scouts have been ‘ever-present’ at Atalanta games as they track the progress of Ahanor.
“Primarily a centre-back but also capable of playing as a left-back, Ahanor has featured 13 times across all competitions this season, popping up with one goal.
“However, Chelsea won’t have a free run at the youngster, because Man City are also interested, along with several other top European sides.”
Sports247 gathered further that the dark-skinned left-footed youngster was born in Italy, but recently said he would love to commit his international future to Nigeria.
