Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Coach Alloy Agu has risen to the defense of goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa who is a “bench warmer” at Enyimba.
Agu’s assertion is coming on the heels of growing concerns on why a less active Ezenwa at club level should earn a call up to the national team ahead of a more competitive Theophilus Afelokhai.
But Agu believes that both goalkeepers are active which is also good for his department.
“People have been commenting on the current status of Ezenwa at Enyimba. He is a good goalkeeper and has always showed it for both club and country,” Alloy Agu stated to Sports247.ng.
“He has kept some games for Enyimba and will continue to be part of the Super Eagles team.”
“Theophilus Afelokhai is performing very well for Enyimba at the moment. He is experienced and has been around for sometime. His current form is good for the national side.”
