Agege stadium set to host African legends

Akinwunmi Ambode testimonial game tagged “The match” will be played at the Agege stadium on May 18, 2019, Sports 247 can reveal.

 

The send forth for the outgoing governor of Lagos State will feature notable African football legends like former World Footballer of the year and President of Liberia, George Weah, Michael Essien, Samuel Eto’o Fils, Aboubacar Titi Camara, El-Hadji Diouf, Didier Zokora, Yaya Toure, among others.

The African Legends will play against a team of ex-Super Eagles consisting of Nwankwo Kanu, Daniel Amokachi, Taribo West, Victor Ikpeba, Emmanuel Amuneke, and Mutiu Adepoju. They will be coordinated by a three-man coaching crew of Augustine Eguavoen, Joe Erico and Henry Nwosu.

The kick off time of “The Match” has been fixed for 2:30pm on May 18 while the VIP tickets sales will start on May 5 at various outlets which will be announced later.

The General Coordinator of the event, Waidi Akanni, revealed that part of the proceeds of the event will go to charity and scholarships for underprivileged kids in Lagos State.
