Agege Football Coaches Would Be Respected During My Tenure- Adedapo

The newly elected Leader of Agege Football Coaches Council, Ajayi Olumide Adedapo has assured that Agege affiliated football coaches would be respected during his own tenure.

Adedapo disclosed this at the inauguration of the new exco of the council held recently in Agege, Lagos.

Other elected members are Adetona Oladele as Vice leader,Sodiq Saheed Folorunsho as secretary, Abiodun Akin wusi as welfare officer.

Others are Taiwo Victor as Assistant secretary/financial secretary,Niniola Kolawole Kayode as treasurer, while Lawal Babatunde Sulaimon was elected as provost.

The council leader in his welcome address said football coaches in Nigeria are not well respected compare to other profession but insisted that during his own tenure, Agege football coaches would not only be respected but empower and compete with their colleagues in other councils.

“During my own tenure, I will make sure that negative impression or perspective some people have about Agege football coaches will change and secondly we would enforce, encourage,mandate our members to always look neat and dress professional so that they can be respected in their communities,”he said.

Commenting on the coaches’ welfare, Adedapo disclosed that his administration would ensure that the Agege football coaches are not suffered saying that all coaches in the council would be treated equally.

“The welfare of my coaches is very paramount in my heart and during my administration, coaches would be given a job and their salaries, incentives or whatever the employers want to call it would be reasonable enough for our members.

“Aside this, we have lined up welfare package for our members such as giving out palliatives occasionally, checking on their well-being, we would also entertain our members in every gathering, show interest in their salaries, contract and negotiation by involving a sound lawyer to protect our coaches in case the employers want to end the contract without following due process,”he said.

Adedapo also revealed that the education of the coaches is very important to his administration and promised that training and retraining of the coaches would be done on monthly basis.

He also said the council would organise a coaching seminar for the affiliated coaches and plans are in advanced stage to invite resource person that would lecture his members the modern football coaching.

The dark skinned leader however revealed that his council would have cordial relationship with Lagos State Football Coaches Association and other councils during his own adminstration.
