Agbagu Warns Flamingos Against Brazil’s Threats Ahead of U-17 World Cup Semi-Final Clash

Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Ogun State Chapter Chairman, Agbagu Damilola Victor, has urged the Flamingos to remain focused and cautious ahead of their semi-final encounter against Brazil at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Speaking in an interview with Sports247 following Nigeria’s 1-0 quarter-final victory over Venezuela, Agbagu praised head coach Akeem Busari and his technical crew for their tactical approach, commitment and contribution to the team’s impressive progress.

The Choosen Generation Angels Manager commended Busari and his assistants for guiding the young Nigerian side to the last four, while acknowledging the work being done behind the scenes to develop the players.

“Kudos to coach Akeem Busari and his coaching staff for their efforts, guidance, commitment and hard work in leading this young team to this stage,” Agbagu said.

Nigeria secured their semi-final ticket through a hard-fought victory over Venezuela, with captain Azeezat Oduntan converting a late penalty to settle the quarter-final contest.

However, Agbagu believes the Flamingos must raise their level of concentration against Brazil, warning that their opponents could pose a significant threat in dangerous attacking areas.

“We need to be more focused against the Brazilians; they are very deceitful in dangerous areas,” he cautioned.

The NFCA Ogun State chairman also stressed that the team’s development remains a continuous process, urging the coaching staff and players to maintain their commitment as the competition enters its decisive stage.

“Credit to the coaching crew for the work they have put in behind the scenes, helping these young players grow, develop and compete at the highest level.

“There’s still more work to be done, and I believe the coach and his team will continue to improve as the competition progresses. This is a young team with so much potential, and they deserve all the support and encouragement.”

With a place in the final now within reach, Agbagu congratulated the Flamingos and their technical crew, encouraging them to remain determined as they prepare for the Brazilian challenge.

“Congratulations to the Flamingos and their coaching staff. One more step closer to the final.

“Keep believing, keep working and keep making Nigeria proud!”
