Senegal’s point guard, Brancou Badio, has promised that he and his teammates will give D’Tigers of Nigeria a very deep and aggressive game in Wednesday’s quarter-final fixture at the African Senior Men’s Basketball Championship in Luanda, Angola.
Sports247 reports that the 26-year-old Badio, who plays for Valencia BC of Spain, was upbeat after helping Senegal defeat South Sudan 78-65 to reach the last eight at this year’s championship, tagged AfroBasket 2025.
The ambitious star, who was also part of Senegal’s bronze-winning squad at Rwanda 2021 and previously played for the basketball team of FC Barcelona, admitted that Wednesday’s game will be tough.
“We have the next game against Nigeria. It’s going to be a difficult game and very physical, but we gonna play the same way we always do.
“We’ll dig deep, and we’ll come out aggressive. We want victory and, hopefully, we’ll get it done,” said Badio, who also previously played for Skyliners Frankfurt of Germany and Manresa of Spain.
Sports247 adds that the point guard, who is fondly called ‘Papi,’ will also aim to ensure that five-time AfroBasket winners, Senegal, avoid a repeat of their semi-final loss in 2015 against D’Tigers, who then went on to win their only title to date
