Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, will face Cameroon later tonight at 10:00 pm in the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship.
Cameroon secured their place in the last eight after defeating Angola 85-64 in a playoff match on Tuesday night.

D’Tigress, the defending champions, advanced directly to the quarter-finals after topping their group with two dominant victories over Rwanda and Mozambique, extending their remarkable winning streak in the competition to 26 games.
Speaking ahead of the clash, D’Tigress Ezinne Kanu said:
“We’ve worked hard to get here, and every player understands what’s at stake. Cameroon is a strong side, but we are focused on our goal of defending our title and making history with a fifth consecutive championship.”
Nigeria is aiming to clinch a fifth consecutive AfroBasket title and a record seventh overall.
Meanwhile South Sudan celebrated their first-ever AfroBasket win with a stunning upset over Egypt in the playoffs to book their place in the quarter final.
