AFL Africa: Tanzanian Side Simba SC, Go Into History Books Conceding First Goal of The African Football League

The start of the African Football League brought about an opportunity for new carvings in the history books to me made and one of those was Simba SC conceding the first goal of the tournament.

The twenty-two times Tanzanian giants made the cut as one of the eight teams to take part in the inaugural edition of the African Football League which has the top clubs around Africa.

Al Ahly’s Reda Selim was found in space on the left in behind the defense of Simba SC and guided a left-footed strike beyond goalkeeper Ally Khatoro to take the Egyptian side into the lead at the break.

Simba however rallied back into the game with two second half goals from Kibu Dennis and Sadio Kanouté but conceded much later from Mahmoud Kahraba and could only settle for a 2-2 draw in the official first game of the African Football League.
