#AFCON23: “We Have Two Wins To Conquer Africa”- Super Eagles’ Media Officer Babafemi Raji on AFCON 2023 Semifinal Preparations

Babafemi Raji, the media officer for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), shared insights with Sports247 about the Super Eagles’ journey to the AFCON 2023 semifinals, where they are set to face South Africa on Wednesday.

He acknowledged the strength of both South Africa and Cape Verde, emphasizing the team’s preparedness for the semifinal encounter.

Raji expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure a victory, stating, “We are ready, preparing, and making sure we get that win on Wednesday.”

With just two crucial games standing between the Super Eagles and the AFCON trophy, Raji shed light on the players’ mindset.

He revealed that the primary goal for the team is to clinch the AFCON title, and the players have been motivating each other to achieve this collective objective.

Raji mentioned the challenges of mental and physical fatigue and emphasized the team’s efforts to address these issues.

He stated, “Players are trying to do the entire team, psychologists, everyone trying to ensure that we don’t suffer mental fatigue, to ensure that the players are mentally upright.”

Regarding the absence of key players like Stanley Nwabali and Victor Osimhen from training, Raji clarified that it is a strategic move to allow them to recover.

After a challenging game on Friday and a rest day on Saturday, the players are given time to recuperate before returning to full training.

Raji assured fans that Nwabali and Osimhen would be back in action, ready to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming semifinal clash
